This book was written with a lot of filler material. Too many pages wasted on Brandon and Bay professing their love for each other, wasted pages on Tillie’s leggings, and I am over Bay’s martyr complex. I decided to read this book because I was intrigued about Clove’s baby- it had the makings of an great storyline -The small parts about the baby were excellent. The rest of the story was not worth the time I wasted reading it. Why? Same old plot.I have enjoyed most of the series but I feel the author is stuck in rut and can’t find a new plot. Someone is murdered, Bay feels responsible, Bay gets attacked and aunt Tillie saves her once again book after book. Add in the over kill of repeated material previously used in ALL the preceding books and I have to wonder if the author is even writing these books or is a template being used.I am hoping that if there is a book about Clove’s baby, that it is unique, fresh and murder free! They are endless possibilities for the story and hopefully after 18 books with the same plot the author will pursue some of them.
